FASHION HAS NO GENDER BITCH, and CHNG community closet is making sure everyone knows it. A returning fashion show was held on December 6, 2024 during the Lighting of Ledoux in Taos, New Mexico. The show was put on by Eliza Lowther, Maddy Ortega, Avery Burstein and other volunteers. “So here's the deal...,no matter what, EVERYONE deserves to feel SEEN, CONFIDENT, and ACCEPTED for who they are. It’s like a basic human right, duh.” said Eliza Lowther.

The event was held to not only spread their message but to inform locals and tourists about the new community closet that is soon to open. “CHNG community closet is being created as a safe and affirming space for transgender and queer individuals in our community to explore their authentic selves. We intend to become a trusted resource for our diverse and vibrant queer neighbors.” stated Lowther

The closet will be free of charge and available to anyone who is searching for unique handcrafted items to express themselves. It’s not only clothes, also included are shoes, accessories, wellness resources, cuts and color, facials, even identity and style coaching! “COME AS YOU ARE AND LEAVE MORE YOURSELF THAN EVER.” said Lowther.
